Celebrating Unity!

Today we want to remember a special day in our history.

Today is Juneteeth, the day that slavery was finally abolished in the United States of America. On this day in 1865, two and a half years after the Emancipation Proclamation was issued and the civil war officially ended, enslaved African Americans in Texas were finally notified of their freedom. This bittersweet day marks the day all African Americans finally were freed from slavery, but only two years after they were legally free all along. Though we still have a long way to go, we celebrate this day as a day our country finally was able to turn away from the evils of slavery and head towards a better tomorrow.

This year, as a country we are going through multiple trials that have tested us as companies, educators, and people. But through all of this we want to remember and honor the good that all you do.

We wanted to share some beautiful videos from educators Peripole has had the privilege of working with.

First, from Dekalb County School District music educators in Georgia with Original song by Chelsea Cook "We Are One: Dekalb United" as a symbol of hope and unification!

We also wanted to share this amazing video: "The Voices of Thomas G Pullen Virtual Choir performance of Save The World" The Thomas G Pullen Virtual Choir is directed by Thomas Pierre, a music educator and clinician Peripole is not only proud to have sponsored but also call our family. These kids just do something amazing here! They show how with ingenuity and perseverance, they can overcome school closing and really utilize distance learning.

We hope these videos inspire you and lift your spirits!
